Hello my name is Paul and this is my web page. As you can see I am a fan of Firefly. I first saw the show when the Sci-Fi Channel started showing reruns in   the summer of 2005. The show originally aired on Fox in 2002. Shown out of order and at different times, it was canceled half way through its first season.  The two hour pilot that was supposed to introduce people to the verse was shown last. Three of the episodes did not air until the Sci-Fi Channel aired them in 2005. But the fans known as Browncoats never gave up. Because of DVD sales and fan support in 2005 Universal released a major motion picture based on the series. It was called "Serenity" and featured the complete cast from the show. Now the Browncoats are working on getting a sequel to Serenity made. Leading the way are two podcasts The Signal and Firefly Talk. If you don't know what a podcast is well neither did I until I started looking for more information about Firefly. Podcasting is a method of publishing files to the Internet, allowing users to subscribe to a feed and receive new files automatically by subscription, usually at no cost. It first became popular in late 2004, used largely for audio files. You can play them on an ipod or a computer. The fans have also made a documentary called "Done the Impossible" a fans tale of the rise and fall of Firefly. A year in the making with interviews and commentary from the actors it is packed full of everything you ever wanted to know about Firefly. All proceeds are being donated to charity. Then there is "Can't Stop the Serenity.com“. On June 23rd 2006 Browncoats organized 47 screenings in 5 different countries. On this day Serenity was brought back to the big screen by the fans and raised over $64,871.27 dollars for Joss Whedon's favorite charity. Joss is the creator of Firefly. The fans gather on many different boards like Fireflyfans.net, Serenitymovie.net or the OB on the internet to talk about the show and how to get more Firefly. H ope you enjoy my page see you in the Verse.
